GOD: OUR JEHOVAH RAPHA
“Jehovah,” is derived from the Hebrew word Havah, translated as “to be,” “to exist,” or “to become known.” The Hebraic translation of Rapha (râpâ) means “to restore” or “to heal.”
God first revealed Himself as Jehovah-Rapha to the Israelites after their exodus out of Egypt. After three days of wandering in the Desert of Shur, the Israelites were in desperate need of water. They discovered a river, however, the waters were unfit to drink. As a reflection of the quality of the water and their emotional disposition, the Israelites named the river Mahra (bitter).
God divinely cleansed the waters by instructing Moses to throw a piece of wood into the water, thereby making it drinkable. Following this miracle, God declared HImself as Jehovah Rapha to His people- EXODUS 15 22 Then Moses led Israel from the Red Sea and they went into the Desert of Shur. For three days they traveled in the desert without finding water. 23 When they came to Marah, they could not drink its water because it was bitter. (That is why the place is called Marah.[f]) 24 So the people grumbled against Moses, saying, “What are we to drink?” 25 Then Moses cried out to the Lord, and the Lord showed him a piece of wood. He threw it into the water, and the water became fit to drink.
When we talk about healing, it’s not just healing of the body. It can be healing of the land, from trouble, family, soul, business, work, womb, hormones, habit, character, among others
According to 2 KINGS 5:1-14 Narman had leprosy and was healed. This healing is called, HEALING OF DISEASE. God changed his story by making him have a birth in waters.
Also in MARK 2: 1-12 a paralytic man was healed. This could synonymously be seen as stroke or partial stroke. This was also healed by God
