{"id":276,"date":"2022-06-16T02:28:39","date_gmt":"2022-06-16T02:28:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/actmckinney.org\/?p=276"},"modified":"2022-06-16T02:28:40","modified_gmt":"2022-06-16T02:28:40","slug":"god-is-bigger-than-that-mountain","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/actmckinney.org\/?p=276","title":{"rendered":"GOD IS BIGGER THAN THAT MOUNTAIN"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>GOD IS BIGGER THAN THAT MOUNTAIN<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ZECHARIAH 4: 1-7<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>4&nbsp;<\/strong>Then the angel who talked with me returned and woke&nbsp;me up, like someone awakened from sleep.&nbsp;<strong><sup>2&nbsp;<\/sup><\/strong>He asked me, \u201cWhat do you see?\u201d I answered, \u201cI see a solid gold lampstand&nbsp;with a bowl at the top and seven lamps&nbsp;on it, with seven channels to the lamps.&nbsp;<strong><sup>3&nbsp;<\/sup><\/strong>Also there are two olive trees&nbsp;by it, one on the right of the bowl and the other on its left.\u201d <strong><sup>4&nbsp;<\/sup><\/strong>I asked the angel who talked with me, \u201cWhat are these, my lord?\u201d <strong><sup>5&nbsp;<\/sup><\/strong>He answered, \u201cDo you not know what these are?\u201d \u201cNo, my lord,\u201d I replied. <strong><sup>6&nbsp;<\/sup><\/strong>So he said to me, \u201cThis is the word of the&nbsp;Lord&nbsp;to Zerubbabel:&nbsp;\u2018Not&nbsp;by might nor by power,&nbsp;but by my Spirit,\u2019&nbsp;says the&nbsp;Lord&nbsp;Almighty. <strong><sup>7&nbsp;<\/sup><\/strong>\u201cWhat are you, mighty mountain? Before Zerubbabel you will become level ground.&nbsp;Then he will bring out the capstone&nbsp;to shouts&nbsp;of \u2018God bless it! No one went out and no one came in. <strong><sup>2&nbsp;<\/sup><\/strong>Then the&nbsp;Lord&nbsp;said to Joshua, \u201cSee, I have delivered&nbsp;Jericho into your hands, along with its king and its fighting men.&nbsp;<strong><sup>3&nbsp;<\/sup><\/strong>March around the city once with all the armed men. Do this for six days.&nbsp;<strong><sup>4&nbsp;<\/sup><\/strong>Have seven priests carry trumpets of rams\u2019 horns&nbsp;in front of the ark. On the seventh day, march around the city seven times, with the priests blowing the trumpets.)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>To make one lose faith to fear and fate<\/strong> (1 Kings 19 Now Ahab told Jezebel\u00a0everything Elijah had done and how he had killed\u00a0all the prophets with the sword.\u00a0<strong><sup>2\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>So Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah to say, \u201cMay the gods deal with me, be it ever so severely,\u00a0if by this time tomorrow I do not make your life like that of one of them.\u201d <strong><sup>3\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>Elijah was afraid\u00a0and ran\u00a0for his life.\u00a0When he came to Beersheba\u00a0in Judah, he left his servant there,\u00a0<strong><sup>4\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>while he himself went a day\u2019s journey into the wilderness. He came to a broom bush,\u00a0sat down under it and prayed that he might die. \u201cI have had enough,\u00a0Lord,\u201d he said. \u201cTake my life;\u00a0I am no better than my ancestors.\u201d )<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>SOLUTION TO OVERCOME MOUNTAIN<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Cry to God<\/strong> (2 Kings 20 <strong>In<\/strong> those days Hezekiah became ill and was at the point of death. The prophet Isaiah son of Amoz went to him and said, \u201cThis is what the&nbsp;Lord&nbsp;says: Put your house in order, because you are going to die; you will not recover.\u201d <strong><sup>2&nbsp;<\/sup><\/strong>Hezekiah turned his face to the wall and prayed to the&nbsp;Lord,&nbsp;<strong><sup>3&nbsp;<\/sup><\/strong>\u201cRemember,&nbsp;Lord, how I have walked&nbsp;before you faithfully&nbsp;and with wholehearted devotion and have done what is good in your eyes.\u201d And Hezekiah wept bitterly. <strong><sup>4&nbsp;<\/sup><\/strong>Before Isaiah had left the middle court, the word of the&nbsp;Lord&nbsp;came to him:&nbsp;<strong><sup>5&nbsp;<\/sup><\/strong>\u201cGo back and tell Hezekiah, the ruler of my people, \u2018This is what the&nbsp;Lord, the God of your father David, says: I have heard&nbsp;your prayer and seen your tears;&nbsp;I will heal you. On the third day from now you will go up to the temple of the&nbsp;Lord.&nbsp;<strong><sup>6&nbsp;<\/sup><\/strong>I will add fifteen years to your life. And I will deliver you and this city from the hand of the king of Assyria. I will defend&nbsp;this city for my sake and for the sake of my servant David.\u2019\u201d)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Face the mountain<\/strong> (1 Samuel 17 <strong><sup>41&nbsp;<\/sup><\/strong>Meanwhile, the Philistine, with his shield bearer&nbsp;in front of him, kept coming closer to David.&nbsp;<strong><sup>42&nbsp;<\/sup><\/strong>He looked David over and saw that he was little more than a boy, glowing with health and handsome,&nbsp;and he despised&nbsp;him.&nbsp;<strong><sup>43&nbsp;<\/sup><\/strong>He said to David, \u201cAm I a dog,&nbsp;that you come at me with sticks?\u201d And the Philistine cursed David by his gods.&nbsp;<strong><sup>44&nbsp;<\/sup><\/strong>\u201cCome here,\u201d he said, \u201cand I\u2019ll give your flesh to the birds&nbsp;and the wild animals!\u201d <strong><sup>45&nbsp;<\/sup><\/strong>David said to the Philistine, \u201cYou come against me with sword and spear and javelin,&nbsp;but I come against you in the name&nbsp;of the&nbsp;Lord&nbsp;Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.&nbsp;<strong><sup>46&nbsp;<\/sup><\/strong>This day the&nbsp;Lord&nbsp;will deliver&nbsp;you into my hands, and I\u2019ll strike you down and cut off your head. This very day I will give the carcasses&nbsp;of the Philistine army to the birds and the wild animals, and the whole world&nbsp;will know that there is a God in Israel.)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Command the mountain<\/strong> (Matthew 17 <strong><sup>18&nbsp;<\/sup><\/strong>Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of the boy, and he was healed at that moment.<strong><sup>19&nbsp;<\/sup><\/strong>Then the disciples came to Jesus in private and asked, \u201cWhy couldn\u2019t we drive it out?\u201d <strong><sup>20&nbsp;<\/sup><\/strong>He replied,&nbsp;\u201cBecause you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith&nbsp;as small as a mustard seed,&nbsp;you can say to this mountain, \u2018Move from here to there,\u2019 and it will move.&nbsp;Nothing will be impossible for you.)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Encourage and renew your confidence in God<\/strong> (1 Samuel 30 David and his men reached Ziklag&nbsp;on the third day. Now the Amalekites&nbsp;had raided the Negev and Ziklag. They had attacked Ziklag and burned&nbsp;it,&nbsp;<strong><sup>2&nbsp;<\/sup><\/strong>and had taken captive the women and everyone else in it, both young and old. They killed none of them, but carried them off as they went on their way. <strong><sup>3&nbsp;<\/sup><\/strong>When David and his men reached Ziklag, they found it destroyed by fire and their wives and sons and daughters taken captive.&nbsp;<strong><sup>4&nbsp;<\/sup><\/strong>So David and his men wept&nbsp;aloud until they had no strength left to weep.&nbsp;<strong><sup>5&nbsp;<\/sup><\/strong>David\u2019s two wives&nbsp;had been captured\u2014Ahinoam of Jezreel and Abigail, the widow of Nabal of Carmel.&nbsp;<strong><sup>6&nbsp;<\/sup><\/strong>David was greatly distressed because the men were talking of stoning&nbsp;him; each one was bitter&nbsp;in spirit because of his sons and daughters.
